Lightning bug in the day,
Ive never noticed you before!
At night you shine-
You are the star that hovers close-and shoots far!
But when the dawn meets the day-
I've never considered where you go to stay.
Do you try with all your might
To continue to shine and show your light?
While all we do is walk on by-
Ignoring you and your unique design.
Sometimes I feel I am at fault
Of ignoring creation in all it's facets
No second thought, no time to halt.
Though the Father whispers-
Slow down in this moment and catch it!
I will choose to both look for and see
All that this day brings to me.
And when dusk meets the night,
Lightning bug, I'll appreciate even more, your beautiful sight!
